πŸ‘„: a day before the test practice terus intro and ending individual presentation korang. Sebab nanti korang akan kalut tulis points during the test, so bila nak present some ppl tergagap nk start mcm mana.

πŸ‘„: contoh intro indv. presentation β€œA very good morning I bid to the examiners and friends. The situation highlights that _(baca balik soalan). In my opinion, _(baca point yg korang dapat)_ is the best way to ___”

πŸ‘„: no worries! Be confident even korang rasa mcm the heck am i talking 😭 the tips is ALWAYS FINISH YOUR SENTENCE. Jgn biar tergantung. Pause and take a deep breath kalau korang dah start β€œerr” β€œhmm” and continue balik. Its always better to pause than keep on talking but point merata and noktah pun tak tahu kat mana. Next, use linkers. First, secondly, besides, apart from that etc.

πŸ‘„: DON’T FORGET TO CONCLUDE even examiner dah bunyikan loceng. If korang still tgh explain point ketiga waktu tu, finish ur final sentence and terus cakap β€œIn conclusion, ___” . Doesn’t matter if conclusion tak gempak, yg penting conclude!

πŸ‘„: the simplest way kalau korang tak sempat fikir is just repeat balik je intro korang. β€œin conclusion, it is proven that improving education is the best way to ____”

πŸ‘„: non verbal gestures are also important. This will tolong sedikit sebanyak ur marks especially for those yg rasa korang tak pandai elaborate, etc. So mantain eye contact with examiners & other candidates. Kalau nervous, tengok dahi dorang. Don’t make it obvious that you are looking down. Jangan tunduk baca notes yg korang tulis tu. Selang seli dengan tengok muka dorang. Otherwise nampak membaca instead of speaking.

πŸ‘„: Lastly, keep it moderate. Dont talk too fast or too slow. If you have been reading/watching news, you may mention one issue/recent news yg related with your point.

πŸ‘„: group discussion; if you feel you messed up your individual presentation, grab the chance to start/end the grp discussion. But if ur already perform well for the first task, be considerate & let others to start the discussion to help him/her w their marks.

πŸ‘„: unless everyone is totally senyap for 5 seconds, then korang start je. I heard that there are marks for the ones yg starting / ending the discussion. But choose one je. Jangan la tamak dua2 nak sapu kan 😭

πŸ‘„: Then, don’t dominate! Jangan cakap lama sgt sampai orang lain takleh cakap. Kalau nampak ada candidate yg messed up, korang give the chance to him/her to talk too. Ask them about their opinions. Are they agreeing/disagreeing with your points etc.

πŸ‘„: LISTEN TO OTHERS. It’s a grp discussion so penting korang dengar waktu org bercakap juga. Don’t make it obvious yg korang tgh masih lagi fikir points korang waktu candidate lain tengah bercakap. Acah2 angguk ke apa to show that u are participating πŸ˜‚

πŸ‘„: AND for those yg aiming for band 4.5 and above, try to use wider vocabularies, phrases and avoid grammatical errors while speaking. For example; kalau korang dah guna β€œi agree with candidate A because_ β€œ, so then next point dont use i agree dah you might say β€œI have no objection that ” β€œI am convinced that_” β€œI think candidate B is right about___” etc.

πŸ‘„: conclusion for grp discussion; yg berminat nak tutup grp discussion, just conclude mcm biasa kalau semua setuju dgn satu point yg sama. Kalau ada yg points berlainan or tak sempat habis discussion, you may conclude by saying β€œI guess it is time to bring our discussion to a close. In conclusion, SOME OF US agree that WHILE THE OTHERS think that. Thank you” If takde orang nak conclude, korang conclude je tau if you are aiming for band 4.5 and above.
