there’s a lot of reasons why people go back to zero even after making 5-6 figs and here are some of them 📕:
1/ your money is no longer yours the moment you let people know how much you have
web3 folks tend to flaunt their wins, which is fine if you’re planning to grow as a creator as it attracts people but it comes with it’s own disadvantages
if you have N1,000,000 and everyone knows, including family, friends and even strangers, that money is no longer 100% yours
trust me, no matter how st!ngy you think you are as a person, you can never own 100% of that money.
to help others, help yourself first.
2/ misplaced priorities
there’s nothing wrong with upgrading lifestyle when you make money but don’t live above your means
most people squander money and tend to buy things that won’t add value to their lives just to impress people.
3/ financial illiteracy & management
most web3 folks don’t have financial discipline, we tend to spend all the money we made from a i r d r o p hoping to get new airrdrop pay in the future instead of investing it IRL
if you give someone that barely earns N50k-N100k monthly N1b to manage and invest
they are more likely to round trip the money to zero because they don’t have the financial literacy and experience to manage such amount of money.

it will be nice if people will be publishing articles on how to manage and invest money in web2/web3 once you make a certain amount.
the problem isn’t about making the money but creating systems that will keep you sustainable regardless of the market or country situation.
