The government will raise the Cost-of-Living Special Payment, announced in Budget 2026, by S$200. This means those eligible will now get between S$400 and S$600.

Plans to redevelop the Greater Southern Waterfront (GSW) into a new gateway for live, work and play were announced at the National Day Rally 2019.

Land reclamation at Keppel and Tanjong Pagar Terminals will create land and reinforce the former port area, enabling it to support future developments to meet our housing, recreational and community needs. Land raising as part of reclamation will also strengthen Singapore’s defences against rising sea levels, high tides, and storm surges.

HDB has been appointed as the agent to carry out the land reclamation works. In preparation for this, we have conducted environmental studies to determine the potential environmental impact of the project.

We have proposed mitigation measures and an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) based on the findings, to minimise the environmental impact of the project.
