This Saturday from 10am - 12pm. M1M will be back for round 2 of the 15 Bromwell Street cleanup. M1M teams from Mitchells Plain, Durbanville, Southern Suburbs, Blouburg and Walmer Estates and of course the community themselves participated in last weeks operation, & will be back again over this Easter weekend!
This forms part of our national campaign; #1MillionTrashBags where just shy of 100 thousand bags (600 plus tons) have been collected to date across the country.
The initiative continues to garner mass national support from our members & the media. Many incredible spinoff projects & campaigns are being generated through this process.
2 additional projects are now in the pipeline; a second Woodstock project & in Mitchells Plain - a school/community based project.
These task-based projects & initiatives seek to include council, police, business, community members & educational institutions in an exercise of restoration, an installation of community, pride and dignity.

As most are aware, a neglected vagrant fire got picked up by the wind yesterday and has ravaged a restaurant, the Rhodes memorial and is still burning as we speak.
With wind speeds picking up today I’m sure that firefighters and volunteers are going to have their work cut out for them.

On June 19 we will be joining Ikasi Soccer School for Girls in Kayelitsha for what promises to be an action packed day of community cleanup, sanitary pad and food distribution for those who participate, music and a bit of football fun!
Also joining us on the day will be GBV groups SA Woman Fight & #LangaForMen to speak to and educate the community on GBV.

Charles has committed himself to serving this organisation and many communities across Gauteng from the get go, and has proven himself to be not only an operational grand master, but also a team player who is willing to listen and learn while building the movement.
To date he has managed a number of large scale projects, some of the most notable being the Florence in Hillbrow along side RySky, as well as building working partnerships with Tshwane municipality not to mention various schools, groups and organisations, speaking to the core of what we stand for as an all inclusive, collaborative organisation.
Charles has now moved to our Executive Committee where he will immediately begin the planning and structuring of his teams and project management across the province.
Now the real work starts Charles!

We are now fully aware of the precarious situation our country finds itself in.
There are no doubt multiple reasons, that can be debated, for the unacceptable behavior we are witnessing.
Nevertheless, perpetuating the ongoing social media clips, only adds fuel to the fire and threatens the safety of law abiding citizens.
This is clearly the time to exercise due caution and to behave rationally.
MoveOneMillon members nationally and internationally are renowned for their ability to address wrongs and to take appropriate action, when the time is right.
We do not sit on the outside pointing fingers and taking the moral high ground.
We do not perpetuate unsubstantiated rumours and gossip from the comfort of our living rooms, yet do nothing.
We get involved in our communities and the country we love and care about.
We are action oriented and get actively involved in a peaceful and organized manner in activating our membership.
The most important issue is to ensure the safety of your family and loved ones.
In this regard we need communities to stand together as a united front to ensure a greater degree of security.

Dear Members,
It is with great sadness that I wish to inform you that we have lost one of our own.
Charles passed away last night, having succumbed to Covid.
This is a devastating loss for us all, and we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to his son, life partner and other friends and family.
What Charles did for this organization, this country and our people during his time with us makes him a hero.
He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Please, stay vigilant out there. Don’t take one second of your life for granted.
