日本政府关系人士透露，外务省用于收发包含机密的外交电报的系统网络在2020年被中国攻击，造成大量情报泄露。尤其要求保密的外交电报系统被攻破实属极其罕见的异常情况。
关系人士说，美国政府在2020年时告知日本政府“日本驻外公馆的网络正被中国监视”。当时美方虽未明确指出泄露的情报具体内容和攻击是怎样被发现的，但暗示日本驻华大使馆和外务省之间的外交电报正被中国大量获取。
美国国家安全局局长保罗·仲宗根等人当时紧急赴日会见日本政府高官，双方讨论了对应措施。
最后，处理机密信息的外务省、防卫省、警察厅、公安调查厅和内阁情报调查室5部门对系统进行了检查，并修复存在漏洞的程序。改善情况由日美共享，美方要求继续检查和强化系统。
日本的外交电报包含日本外交官从外国政府等处获得的绝密情报，为防止被窃取，通常会使用不通过互联网的“国际IPVPN”收发，并进行特殊加密。
负责外交电报系统的外务省情报通信课在接受读卖新闻采访时表示“出于信息安全原因不予置评”。
官房长官林芳正在5日的记者会上亦对此事“不予置评”，并表示没有发现外务省有泄露机密情报。

Google announced today that they've provided a grant of $1,000,000 to the Rust Foundation to support efforts to improve interoperability between Rust and C++. They're also going to aggregate and publish audits for the Rust crates that they use in their open-source projects. The goal is to further reduce the barriers to adoption and thus accelerate the adoption of Rust.
Rust is a programming language that enforces memory safety and is already widely used in Android's codebase. The Rust tooling and ecosystem already support interoperability with C/C++ in the Android platform.
