After years of building on Polkadot, we are going somewhere new. This is not a rebrand. GLMR is migrating to Base and we are building the infrastructure for autonomous AI agents to find each other, negotiate work, and settle payments entirely on-chain. No middlemen, just agents paying agents.
Migration details
Swap ratio: 1:1 (GLMR to Base ERC-20)
Deadline: July 31, 2026
Bridge: https://migrate.portal.moonbeam.network/migrator
What you need to do before July 31
If you hold GLMR in a wallet, bridge your tokens at https://migrate.portal.moonbeam.network/migrator before July 31. Every GLMR you hold today becomes one Base ERC-20 GLMR and your stake in the protocol is preserved the moment you bridge.
Before you bridge, make sure to withdraw any funds you have deployed in protocols on the Moonbeam chain, including liquidity positions, lending markets, staking contracts, and any other DeFi protocols. Once the chain winds down, funds left in on-chain protocols may become inaccessible.
If you hold GLMR on a centralized exchange, you do not need to do anything. Your exchange will handle the migration automatically. Watch for direct communication from your exchange confirming the switchover date.

To support the Polkadot AssetHub migration, all XCM transfers on the Moonbeam dApp are now paused (as of 9am CET).
🕗 The migration begins today around 10:30am CET and is expected to run throughout the day.
Transfers will be re-enabled once testing is complete.

Starting today, we’re finalizing the switch to EVM-native assets on Moonbeam.
As part of the migration, token spend approvals are moved within the underlying chain storage and will appear in the block explorer as though a large number of approvals were suddenly created. This is expected and so users need not be concerned.
This multi-phase upgrade began in late 2024—RT3400, RT3501 & now RT3600—bringing better EVM compatibility and unified asset management.

All Polkadot-native assets on Moonbeam are now true ERC-20s — fully EVM-native.
You can now fork Moonbeam using tools like Hardhat & Foundry to interact with these assets seamlessly.
Remember that balances and approvals were migrated as new EVM transactions.
