Three U.S. Navy destroyers attempted to cross the strait of Hormuz and an Iranian oil tanker was struck at the same time, the U.S. warships were met by what CBS news described as a fierce and sustained Iranian attack lasting for hours, with the involvement of drones, missiles and gunboats. Iranian gunboats got so close to U.S. warships that they had to use their deck weaponry to repel them. The U.S. then struck several areas/ports from where they claim the attacks were carried out. At the same time air defense activity in several parts of Iran was observed.

The IRGC claims to have imposed damage on the U.S. warships while CENTCOM claims that no U.S. ships were struck.

The explosion sounds reported in UAE were due to intense exchange of fire between Iran and the U.S. warships just off the coast of UAE.

The event for now seems to be over with both U.S. and Iran claiming they are not looking for escalation but will respond harshly to any aggression.
