Australia’s Founding Fathers: William Lane https://nativistherald.com.au/2017/08/06/australias-founding-fathers-william-lane/
“He [Lane] didn’t derive his inspiration from the ponderous works of Marx. He owed more to the gentle philosophy of William Morris, H.M. Hyndman and other British Socialists. McNamara was all for Hyndman. Lectures on Socialism were given on Sunday nights at Leigh House by George Black, W.G. Spence, J.D. FitzgeraId, W.M. Hughes and W.A. Holman, and soon there was a group of followers who wanted to put their ideas into practice instead of merely talking about them. They were the people who found their dreams crystallised in the plan put forward by Lane.
Although believing in Socialism, Lane was also very color conscious. He was against black labor, and had helped to inspire the White Australia policy, which had its origin in the sugarcane fields of North Queensland, where Kanaka labor was introduced. He had to find a white man’s country for his settlement. He decided on South America.”
“…William Lane’s ‘socialism’ was very ‘non-marxist’ to the extent that he was a utopian, who believed in gradualist change and racial nationalism. He once wrote: “Unless Australia is to be white, what does it matter to us what becomes of it?” ;

Hardships (published in the Cosme Monthly, June 1895):
“We make no secret whatever of the fact that we have many hardships to endure, and that we are working in the face of many difficulties. Things are gradually improving with us, but everybody who comes realizes that vegetarianism isn’t pleasant, and that to work on a sweet potato breakfast is not the easiest thing in the world. We have to count every penny we spend, and to deny ourselves many of the things generally regarded as the necessaries of life. We have to see our own womenfolk deprived of well nigh every comfort, and to realise their uncomplaining heroism without being able to help them. And we who are married have to see also the patient endurance of strong and healthy unmarried men, mostly in the prime of life, who are living sober, manly honest, self sacrificing lives that might well make sworn celibates blush in self-conscious shame. But no matter what our own hardships may be, or what our self denial may be, we personally want neither help nor pity from anybody.
We pity those who prefer slavery to a brave try for freedom, and who cannot see that without faith all effort must fail.”

I think it’s also interesting to note that in order to correspond with the colony you had to be an English-speaking White and strictly believe in teetotalism, socialism (in the non-marxist sense - essentially trade unionism), and the colour line. So it would’ve been quite fascinating to see what would’ve happened if the colony actually grew to a hefty size.
Mary Gilmore, another utopian figure involved with the Paraguayan project and white-labour advocacy, on ‘The Black Labour Advocate’ (1924):
“Bring in the nigger and the lash,
This advocate declares,
The working white is feeble trash,
Too weak for what he shares;
Bring; in the slayer and the whip.
The, licensed trade in man —
And see the, flag on every ship
That out as slaver ran.
Bring in the ‘British negro’ blood
(The Asian is too white).
What matter if its color flood
Australia left and right!
What matter’ if the moral law,
By which we strive to stand,
‘Give way to Ju-Ju, red and raw
From Britain’s Africa strand!
Be British! says this Britisher;
Put down your native pride.
Prefers to do a perisher
Than ride with Ham inside!
The white man starves beside the Thames,
And by the northern Firth;
We’ll leave him hungry, as he ‘clems’
And count the blacker worth!
Be British! says this Britisher,
As, stridently and loud,
He stands as our admonisher
And lands, his ‘nigger crowd;
He thinks that cotton black men grow
Will feel upon your skin
Nicer than that Australians show
As grown by kith and kin!
Alas,! Alas!, the negro man,
Enslaved for rich man’s greed,
Counted as endless- ages ran
No better than a weed!
Give him his country, back again,
Give him his native powers,
Give him his manhood among men—
And’ leave, O leave us, Ours!”

Mary Gilmore on racial supremacy:
“It is folly to deride the alien just because he is alien. It is only the ignorant who heap contumely on him by vulgar epithet and coarse naming, never inquiring what manner of man he be, and what his development, on his own, national lines. Every man is an alien in another man’s country; every man an inferior in regard to another’s national ideal and formulation of that ideal; and the insularity that makes us regard our point of view as the highest, is usually insularity, and nothing else — even though equally common to the people we deride. We look on Hindoo worship as heathenish. How do you suppose the Hindoo regards our worship? And as regards religion, so other things. I do not believe a self-respecting man of any nation looks on himself as the inferior of any other nation, and I do not see why he should. The individual man is individual man, whether he be black, white, or yellow. However, that is not the point. The point lies in race continuance, and the need for it.
That there are inferior races no one doubts. Given equal numbers, it is the inferior which always dies off before the advance of civilisation; which suggests the thought that civilisation is a burden, a test of strength, which only the strong and strongest can effectively bear. If this be so, the white man, as the most highly civilised of all peoples, is the strongest, individually, and the one who, of all others, should be permitted to survive; while he who would sink him in the sea of another’s color, stands in the way of progress, and scuttles the ship that would bear us yet further on.
Lest any should think that the admission that others may be excellent as well as we, be taken as an argument for mixture of race, let me add that any woman who gives birth to a child whose color is not her own, gives birth to a child not wholly hers. It is a graft, a cuckoo born of a foreigner. Its eyes, its hair, its skin, its ways, and implanted ideals belong to a people in whom she has neither part nor lot, and in so far it is theirs, not hers, mother it how she may.
This is Nature’s way. She paints signboards all over the innocent that the guilty may be known, and the sin against racial purity blazoned abroad. It is an instinct of Nature, whose meaning is not to be mistaken, that the child shall follow the race, shall bear the mark of race, and grow up in the ways of that to which it belongs. To mix is to destroy what Nature built, and break down her lines of continuity.”

New Study: The Right-Wing worldview is defined by the belief that hierarchy (i.e. inequality) is inherent to reality and simply part of the natural order.
"Folks who see the world as hierarchical think that almost everything in the world can be ranked from better to worse. Differences probably matter because they distinguish things of more value from things with less. So, when in doubt, respect differences."
"Conservatives do tend to show a default motivation to respect and preserve differences, whether it be borders between countries, differences between sexes, differences between rich and poor, and lots more. And liberals tend to assume those differences are fraudulent or arbitrary. The poor don’t deserve to be poor. The rich don’t deserve to be rich. And so forth."

This is a place of peace, sacred to the dead, where men should speak with all charity and with all restraint; but I hold it a Christian thing, as O’Donovan Rossa held it, to hate evil, to hate untruth, to hate oppression, and, hating them, to strive to overthrow them. Our foes are strong and wise and wary; but, strong and wise and wary as they are, they cannot undo the miracles of God who ripens in the hearts of young men the seeds sown by the young men of a former generation...Life springs from death; and from the graves of patriot men and women spring living nations. The Defenders of this Realm have worked well in secret and in the open.
They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have foreseen everything, think that they have provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools!—they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace.

You don’t think multiracial societies are an issue? Try being a white person using public transport in any great European capital. It’s one of the best ways to radicalise yourself on the Racial Question.

A nation is a stubborn thing, very hard to kill; but a dead nation does not come back to life, any more than a dead man. There will never again be a Ligurian nation, nor an Aztec nation, nor a Cornish nation.
Irish nationality is an ancient spiritual tradition, and the Irish nation could not die as long as that tradition lived in the heart of one faithful man or woman. But had the last repositor of the Gaelic tradition, the last unconquered Gael, died, the Irish nation was no more. Any free state that might thereafter be erected in Ireland, whatever it might call itself, would certainly not be the historic Irish nation.
