I recently watched the 2012 film 'Lincoln' and it's genuinely one of the worst films I've ever seen. Historically inaccurate to the point of comedy, complete propaganda for the current American regime.
Even Lincoln fans wouldn't enjoy the film, as it paints Lincoln (and his ministers) as modern liberals whose entire existence revolved around Black people. Even Lincoln's critics have to laugh at that idea.

Abraham Lincoln was more racist than any pro-slavery southern leader at the time. He didn’t free the negro so that they could benefit and have the same rights as Whites (which is the typical liberal civil rights line), but rather to alleviate Whites from having them around. Without getting into the whole reconstruction debate, here are some quotes which clearly highlight this point:

Interesting how union‘s and the Australian press around the time of the Shearer’s strike were completely against the introduction of cheap Islander labour and slavery across Queensland. There was not one politician or figurehead that advocated for slavery and cheap labour who was also for the advancement of White Australia and the expulsion of Chinamen and Kanakas.

The only abolitionists who were truly enthusiastic about the ‘all men are created’ idea were radicals like Thaddeus Stephens, and this was heavily resisted inside the Republican Party by moderates, including Abraham Lincoln, who even went so far as to say that the negro cannot be a citizen. Lothrop Stoddard, a prominent Klansmen, even admitted this in his book Re-forging America by saying that barely any republicans supported total amalgamation and equality with the white man.
From the quotes I provided above, it’s clear that Lincoln wasn’t for negro equality in any sense whatsoever, and even called those who didn’t want to be shipped back to Africa ‘selfish’ (https://t.me/WhiteAmerica14/93). However, as Pax said, it’s true that the black right to vote, serve on juries, equal protection, etc. was forced on the South by Grant. All I’m saying is that the typical narrative about the North being a safe-haven for negros and most Republicans being staunch civil rights activists is nonsense, and one of the biggest lies liberals have ever come up with.
As to the point about voting, Alex de Toqueville, who travelled throughout both the North and South prior to the Civil War in 1838, stated that although voting rights were granted to negros and slavery was abolished, if any of them would try and come forward to vote - among other things -, their lives would be in danger. He then goes to explain how negro intolerance was much more extreme in the North than in the slavery-ridden south (https://t.me/WhiteAmerica14/54), even stating that “The negro is free, but he can share neither the rights, nor the pleasures, nor the labour, nor the afflictions, nor the tomb of him whose equal he has been declared to be; and he can not meet him upon fair terms in life or in death.” There’s no evidence to suggest that this ever changed after the Civil War either. Practically speaking, Negros never had the same privileges as whites anywhere, even in the North, where there were virtually no blacks (which is part of why they were more intolerant). They wanted to keep the mass of blacks as far away as possible from the White man and keep their lands virtually 100% White, and they took legislative measures to ensure this (especially in Lincoln’s Illinois).

Also quite startling is this quote from Senator Lyman Truball, who stated: “I, for one, am very much disposed to favor the colonization of such free negroes as are willing to Central America.
