“It is better to enter very slowly into eternal life than having two feet, to be cast into hell of unquenchable fire, where the worm does not die, and the fire is never put out.”

Unhappy sinners who live as if there were no hell, will be suddenly stripped of their illusions by the most frightful of catastrophes. From the midst of their pleasures they shall fall into the Pit of Torments. But what will it be when the sinner shall see himself, in the twinkling of an eye, in the pit of hell?

Yet, the fear of hell must be balanced with a love of God. Fear of hell is not enough to get us to heaven alone. God does not seek service rendered out of fear only but also loving service. We will need further support when the love of God is blurred from us during temptation and confusion. With the fear of hell, we properly see the devil and the false happiness which he offers us in this world for what it truly is, by seeing what it leads to.
During temptation:
- Think upon the terrible suffering that sinners will endure in hell.

- Think upon the joys of heaven and how terrible your loss would be if you weren’t there.

- Always make an act of contrition frequently, to make habitual the true sorrow for sins, also in case of sudden death.

- Have confidence and love of God in all things.

It was difficult to practise because the Religion of Jesus Christ commanded things contrary to the inclinations of nature corrupted by sin and repugnant to the libertinism in which the pagans were living, accustomed as they were to follow their passions and to give themselves up to the pleasures of the senses. Nothwithstanding these obstacles, the Christian Religion was embraced by so many nations! From this universal consent of the nations St. Augustine argues the divinity of our Religion, saying that had not God illuminated by His powerful grace so many people -- civilized and barbarian, learned and illiterate, noble and plebian, all immersed in the superstitions of their country, imbued from their earliest years with maxims so opposed to the sanctity of Faith -- how could they have embraced it? -St. Alphonsus Liguori
Ask yourselves this, do the destroyers of western civilization who you so ardently oppose ever once attack paganism? Of course not. Contrarily, it is often embraced by faggots and people who you would normally call “degenerate”. Ask yourselves why that is.

Nero, the pagan emperor that persecuted the early Christians, was a sodomite pervert and took part in faggot weddings.

Nero is also esteemed in the Talmud as an honoured convert to Judaism and the ancestor of famous Rabbis.

Be ye ready. The Lord does not tell us to prepare ourselves, but to be prepared, when death arrives ...this, God threatens, saying that then He will come, not to pardon, but to avenge, the contempt of His graces. Revenge is mine, I will repay (Rom. xii. 19). It is, says St. Augustine, a just punishment, that he who was unwilling, when he was able, to save his soul, will not be able when he is willing. But you will say: Perhaps I may still be converted and saved. Would you throw yourself into a deep well, saying, Perhaps I may not be drowned? O God! how sin blinds the understanding, and deprives the soul of reason. When there is question of the body, men speak rationally; but when the soul is concerned, they speak like fools.

Bishop, confessor, and Doctor of the church.

The holy Patriarch of Constantinople received his surname “Chrysostom” (meaning Golden-mouth) because he was known to be the most eloquent preacher and the most prolific writer of the Greek church. He was persecuted by the empress Eudoxia and her courtiers. He died in exile in 407.
