HAPPY EASTER 🔔

🐇 On this special time, we want to wish you all a blessed and holy year.

👦🏼 To celebrate, we wanted to share with you a beautiful French song, here sung at torchlights by French patriots from La Flèche.

🗣️ "Media Vita" is probably France's oldest song. It was written by a priest near Tours in the years 200s (3td Century) for Easter. It was then forgotten, but re-discovered again in the IXth century by the monks of Solesmes Abbey.

🔥 Since this date, it is sing as a song to celebrate life, death, resurrection. Lyrics and translation here.

☀️ In this time of struggle and troubles, may this song light the flame in your hearts. Remember that life will always prevail. Keep faith and hope in the future.

🇨🇵 Never despair.

There should be more Scotist philosophers than there are currently. There needs to be a wider range of philosophical and theological diversity in the Church to compensate for different viewpoints/kinds of argumentation on certain metaphysical and moral issues. I say this so that one doesn’t get the idea that Thomism is the ONLY school the Church permits.

It’s a school of thought that is certainly a minority in the Church. However, it still ought to be analysed and philosophised more since Scotus is in fact beatified and does not get as much attention or credit for his ideas and contributions to Catholic philosophy as he deserves.

People shouldn’t just restrict themselves to Thomism, although it’s much more developed and popular in comparison to Scotism. The Church has always said the same thing.
I am a Thomist and hope that it will not cease to be the dominant system of thought in the Church (it won’t). Though my point still stands about the necessity of there being more than just one popular, largely-written-upon school in contemporary Catholic analytic philosophy and theology in general.

Men like Ed Feser, Rob Koons, Alexander Pruss, and Nigel Cundy will go down in history as key figures in a watershed moment wherein the unseen, serious intellectual world made a gradual but solid shift back to the perennial philosophy of the ancient and medieval world in order to make reality intelligible again
