“Fasting, when rightly practised, lifts the mind to God and mortifies the flesh. It makes virtue easy to attain and increases our merits.” - St. Francis de Sales
All of us are going to die. Your life can be taken at any moment. Do not live this life as a coward, faithless, polluted, and sinful being. Use this time during Lent to reflect on the state of your soul, and go to confession. For you have two deaths, and one will be eternal. Memento Mori, Remember death.
Most unfortunate.
Do not despair, have hope in God. When you cannot perceive the answer to your prayers, or you feel your spirit to be dry, offer these prayers up as sacrifice. Prove to our Lord that you can stand strong with pure faith in him even through spiritual dryness.
“The more empty the soul is of self, the greater room in it for God.”

-Fulton Sheen
"Whoever wishes to be saved must, above all, keep the Catholic Faith: whoever does not observe it in its entirety and inviolate, without a doubt will perish eternally.”

Pope Eugene IV, Council of Florence, "Athanasian Symbol" (1439).
Love stories like this.
Glory to God, truly.
“When we retreat from the noise of the world in silence, we gain a new perspective on the world. To retreat into silence is to come to know ourselves, to know our dignity.” + Cardinal Sarah.
"The cross reveals that unless there is a Good Friday in our lives*, there will never be an Easter Sunday. Unless there is a crown of thorns, there will never be the halo of light. Unless there is the scourged body, there will never be a glorified one. Death to the lower self is the condition of resurrection to the higher self. The world says to us, as it said to Him on the cross: “Come down, and we will believe!” But if He had come down, He never would have saved us. It is human to come down; it is divine to hang there. A broken heart, O Saviour of the world, is love’s best cradle! Smite my own, as Moses did the rock, that Thy love may enter in!"

- Excerpt from The Most Revered Ven. Fulton Sheen's Meditations on the Sorrowful Mysteries
Fulton Sheen is for sure on the top of the list for who I want to be canonized the most. What an incredible man.
Going to be posting St. Alphonsus’ sermon on bad thoughts later as I find it to be very interesting.

Though, here’s a warning before I post it:
