James White is like the Protestant version of Jay Dyer
I was honestly thinking yesterday that Dr. Jordan B Cooper is the Lutheran version of Jay Dyer. In that, he has a cult following who are strongly anti-Catholic, he appears grandiose with long videos and high theological bookshelves in the background, but actually has no more substance than any other non-Catholic commentator and holds the same positions that have been refuted numerous times. I will admit though James White is far more dishonest than Cooper.

The Apostles baptized children in Acts 2:38-39:
“Peter said to them: Do penance and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins: and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, **and to your children."”**

Bishop Richard Williamson on the new “Catholic” religion.
"Better that only a few Catholics should be left, staunch and sincere in their religion, than that they should, remaining many, desire as it were, to be in collusion with the Church's enemies and in conformity with the open foes of our faith."

– St. Peter Canisius (1521-1597)
“I ask you one thing: do not tire of giving, but do not give your leftovers. Give until it hurts, until you feel the pain.”
Truth
Strongly agree. This is why we appeal to authority or argue for the positions of certain people that hold such authority against others in order to justify points. We do not appeal to ourselves and our own pride. That is not Catholic.

If you do not know anything about these theological matters and their true depth and complexity, then do not act authoritatively during discussions. Since this may be the case for allot of people, here’s where you appeal or point to authority and argue for it (if you know enough). Not out of pride or wanting to extend the length of useless, uncharitable quarrels, but simply for wanting them to hear the truth.

You can still be a layman and be extremely theologically, philosophically, historically and ecclesiologically learned/literate. You just have to know your limits and the amount of authority you carry. I am interested in these things and debate with people on them frequently but I know my limits.

Oh, and if you’re unsure of anything, simply ask your Priest, go to the Saints or Church teaching.

Note: during debate, do not appeal directly to authority, but learn from what they have said, know your stuff, and argue for the truth.
