3 ways the Reformation changed the world

If you're a Protestant, the anniversary of the revolution Martin Luther set in motion 500 years ago is a big deal. But even if you're not, it should be.

Trump's claim to have come up with the term 'fake news' is fake news, Merriam-Webster dictionary says

If Trump was claiming he'd coined the word “fake,” he'd be even more wrong. According to Merriam-Webster, the word first appeared in English in the 15th century. “Fake news” doesn't have its own entry in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, and probably won't in the near future.

“The reason ‘fake news’ is unlikely to be entered in our dictionary anytime soon is that it is a self-explanatory compound noun — a combination of two distinct words, both well known, which when used in combination yield an easily understood meaning,” Merriam-Webster explained.

But, as CNN points out, other dictionaries have decided the term warrants an entry of its own. Dictionary.com announced last month that it will add the phrase with this definition: “false news stories, often of a sensational nature, created to be widely shared online for the purpose of generating ad revenue via web traffic or discrediting a public figure, political movement, company, etc.”

And the Cambridge English Dictionary already has the term on its website, with the definition “false stories that appear to be news, spread on the internet or using other media, usually created to influence political views or as a joke.”

A traveling salesman rings this doorbell. 10 year old little Johnny opens, holding a beer and smoking a fat cigar.
The salesman says, "Little boy is your mother home?"
Little Johnny taps his ash on the carpet and says, "What do you think?"
#WRITING TIPS!?🙈🙈🙈🙊🙊🙊🙊
Do not put statements in the negative form.
And don't start sentences with a conjunction.
If you reread your work, you will find on rereading that a great deal of repetition can be avoided by rereading and editing.
Never use a long word when a diminutive one will do.
Unqualified superlatives are the worst of all.
If any word is improper at the end of a sentence, a linking verb is.
Avoid trendy locutions that sound flaky.
Never, ever use repetitive redundancies.
Also, avoid awkward or affected alliteration.
Last, but not least, avoid cliche's like the plague.

Washington (CNN)An Alabama woman alleges Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager, her attorney Gloria Allred said Monday. "Mr. Moore attacked me when I was a child," Nelson said, adding that she was 15 when he began flirting with her and 16 at the time of the alleged assault. "I want Mr. Moore to know that he no longer has any power over me."
She said that one evening he offered her a ride home. Instead of taking her home, Nelson said Moore pulled his car behind the restaurant and began to attack her. "Mr. Moore reached over and began groping me and putting his hands on my breasts," Nelson said. She said she tried to open the car door to leave, but Moore locked it and continued to grab her. "He began squeezing my neck, attempting to force my head onto his crotch. I continued to struggle," Nelson said. "I thought that he was going to rape me." She said she began to cry and beg him to stop and that eventually he did relent before telling her not to speak. "At some point he gave up, and he then looked at me," Nelson said. "He said, 'You're just a child,' and he said, 'I am the district attorney of Etowah County and if you tell anyone about this, no one will ever believe you.'" Moore called the accusation "absolutely false" in a statement outside a fire station in Gallant, Alabama later Monday, denying that he knew Nelson and adding that he didn't know where the restaurant that she described was.

Today, El Camino de Santiago is a Christian pilgrimage, but Christianity didn't invent the route. In fact, like many of Christianity's holidays and rituals, the Church usurped and repackaged ancient pagan traditions and called them Christian (like it did with Christmas and Easter). El Camino Santiago's is yet another example of this. It's El Camino's dirty little secret.

Long before Jesus was born, pagans were walking across northern Spain in a born-again ritual. They would finish at Fisterra (the end of the world), burn their clothes, and watch the sun fall into the infinite sea next to La Costa de Morta (the Coast of Death). This ritual symbolized a pilgrim's death and rebirth.

Eventually, Christians claimed to have brought the remains of St. James to Santiago de Compostela. They encouraged Christians to follow the well-beaten pilgrimage path that the pagans had created, but this time in the name of Christianity.

Gold Winner of the Cannes Lions festival in June 2005.

An explicit attention-grabbing animated video clip from France has won awards and provoked thought about AIDS in the minds of teenagers and young adults. The probably NSFW commercial shows the journey of a young girl as she seeks for true love, accompanied by “Baby Baby” by The Vibrators.
The ad won a Gold Lion at the Cannes Lions festival in June 2005.

Lyrics for Baby Baby
Mmm, you’re so pretty,
Not to talk to you would be a crime.
Aah, let me put my arms around you,
Just wanna use up a little of your time.
(And I go -) Baby baby baby,
Baby baby baby,
Baby baby baby,
Won’t you be my girl.
Aah, your eyes are so pretty,
And the clothes you wear they’re so fine.
Hey won’t you come round to my place
Just wanna use up a little of your time.

Man O Man
When without money, eats wild vegetables at home
When has money, eats same wild vegetables in fine restaurant.

When without money, rides bicycle;
When has money, rides exercise machine.

When without money, walks to earn food
When has money, walks to lose the fat

Man O Man! never fails to deceive thyself!

When without money, wishes to get married;
When has money, wishes to get divorced.

When without money, wife becomes secretary;
When has money, secretary becomes wife.

When without money, acts like rich man;
When has money, acts like poor man.

Man, O Man, never can tell the simple truth!

Says share market is bad but keeps speculating;
Says money is evil but keeps accumulating.
Says high positions are lonely but keeps wanting them.

Man O Man ! Never means what he says and never says what he means!
