If the "Badtimes" message is opened in a Windows XP environment, it will leave the toilet seat up and leave your hair dryer plugged in dangerously close to a full bathtub.
It will not only remove the forbidden tags from your mattresses and pillows, but it will also refill your skim milk with whole milk.
It will replace all your luncheon meat with beef tongue. It will molecularly rearrange your cologne or perfume, causing it to smell like dill pickles-- but, on the plus side, they're kosher dills.
It is insidious and subtle.
It is dangerous and terrifying to behold. It is also a rather interesting shade of mauve. These are just a few signs of infection. Beware.

CLAIM: ‘IT IS NO MORE DANGEROUS THAN WINTER FLU’
Many individuals who get coronavirus will experience nothing worse than seasonal flu symptoms, but the overall profile of the disease, including its mortality rate, looks more serious. Most people who are not elderly and do not have underlying health conditions will not become critically ill from Covid-19. But the illness still has a higher chance of leading to serious respiratory symptoms than seasonal flu and there are other at-risk groups – health workers, for instance, are more vulnerable because they are likely to have higher exposure to the virus. The actions that young, healthy people take, including reporting symptoms and following quarantine instructions, will have an important role in protecting the most vulnerable in society and in shaping the overall trajectory of the outbreak.

CLAIM: ‘FACE MASKS DON’T WORK’
Wearing a face mask is not an iron clad guarantee that you won’t get sick – viruses can also transmit through the eyes and tiny viral particles, known as aerosols, can still penetrate masks. However, the incremental trials required before a commercial vaccine could be rolled out are still a lengthy undertaking – and an essential one to ensure that even rare side-effects are spotted. A commercially available vaccine within a year would be quick.

CLAIM: ‘IF A PANDEMIC IS DECLARED, THERE IS NOTHING MORE WE CAN DO TO STOP THE SPREAD’
A pandemic is defined as worldwide spread of a new disease – but the exact threshold for declaring one is quite vague. In practice, the actions being taken would not change whether or not a pandemic is declared. Containment measures are not simply about eliminating the disease altogether. Delaying the onset of an outbreak or decreasing the peak is crucial in allowing health systems to cope with a sudden influx of patients.

Why do many Jews have names that end in "berg" or "stein?"
Is there any Yiddish/Hebrew origin for these words?

“Berg” and “Stein” are both Germanized equivalents of two (Germanic-derived) Yiddish words, barg (mountain) and shteyn (stone). “Goldberg,” for example, means “gold mountain” and “Goldstein” means “gold stone” (or “goldstone”); Jews in both German-speaking and Yiddish-speaking cultures commonly had such names, and since the overwhelming majority (roughly 80–90%) of American Jews today descend from Jews in these areas, it’s unsurprising that these names remain common. Why Jews favored these names is unclear to me—they may refer to specific place names, or to attractive images (a golden mountain, for example, sounds like a nice image to me!), or there may have been an association of these names with wealth and prestige. There was also a tradition of Jews working and trading in precious metals and gemstones, but not enough Jews practiced these professions to explain the wide proliferation of these names.
In the absence of a clear or verifiable historical explanation of these names—and in general I would greet any overly pat or disproportionately confident answer about where or why Jews took the names they did with suspicion—I’ll leave you instead with a very, very old joke:
