Dia de los Muertos is celebrated throughout Latin America, including South America (Brazilians call the festival Finados) and the Caribbean. In the United States and Canada, the tradition exists only in areas with a large Latin American population, such as Los Angeles, California, or Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Dia de los Muertos predates the independence of Mexico, the U.S., and Canada.

It was 9AM when my phone rang, barely awake. "Hello?" I answered. It was my girlfriend in Palm Springs, CA frantically asking if I was OK, was I alive?" I didn't understand "its 6AM there! What are you doing calling at that hour?!" She said "The Pentagon is getting bombed!! A Plane crashed into it!!" She had no idea how close I was to the Pentagon, but I shared I was safe. I spoke via AOL Chat Community to friends global and locally as sad events unfoled & Rabbit Ears on our TV reception for the rest of this tragic day & evening.
It will be 21yrs ago this September 11th, people banded together & gave their lives to save others, & Never Gave UP & utilized science to identify the last victim of September 11th, 2001.
#MISSIONPROJECT pays their respects to all victims & those still suffering while putting their lives of others first, in this tragic moment on September 11th, 2001.
