AE2 is not hard
AE2 haters when a machine requires:
Stress units
Multiblocks
A PhD
“Wow, such depth.”
AE2 haters when cable has number on it:
“THIS MOD IS TOO COMPLICATED.”
I am AE2’s biggest supporter I don’t EVEN USE logistics mods. I DONT EVEN USE CONTROLLERS. I just subnet everything every 8 channels. I’d say the mod has great documentation but this is the same crowd that rage quits a modpack when they start with 10 books BUT ALSO COINED THE TERM ”wikislop“. WhIch is it guys? one block solutions? or resource and logistics chains that are fun and part of the game? Do yo just want games that play themselves for you?
mmm please give me 100 double chests with Toms Simple Storage to eventually corrupt my world instead of learning about simple addition. They’re called SMART cables for a reason!

Tom this isn't simple anymore

For context, this is an "expert-level RPG" modpack. It's honestly doable for me at my current state but just thinking of making 5 prec. mechs and 22 mech. crafters pains me...my only issue is I don't even have aluminum ingots (between copper and iron in the tree) so I'll just do the create package thing as that's more practical.
Anyways, I have two questions for my little rant, these are for RPG packs in general and not specifically the one I'm playing. 1. Why do RPG packs default to TSS? 2. Why are we gating/gregifying QOL/storage solutions? QOL and good organisation (throw everything in a terminal) are great factors that keep me playing- less tedium, more time for fun.
Difficulty? I get that's it's simpler, it's in the name, but AE2 or RS aren't that hard to get into on new versions. The tiny struggle at the start, getting the processors is a walk in the park compared to the the expert level kubejs monster images. And doing all that microcrafting effort just for my reward to be TSS chest monsters, is a bit laughable. It's definitely different for every pack but I believe most don't change the recipe and if they do, it's not as tedious.
Aesthetics? Let's be real, they only use TSS because of the wooden texture as it's more "vanilla+" as opposed to the futuristic controllers. Can be solved with a resource pack. After a quick search I don't see any that "vanillafies" AE2 but it's always possible in the future. Though I understand, almost nobody is going to make a texture pack just for AE2/RS to look less techy to fit their RPG
Theme? Poor excuse imo, you can always make it fit in the square hole. Best example I have is in craft2exile, you use botania as the only way to magically power RS system, converting mana to RF. A bit clunky but at least they're doing something unique. Another example, at the time I played soulrend, there was TSS and you could easily get the crafting terminal and inventory connector via quest rewards at the start, if you wanted to craft them you would have to go to the nether for iirc quartz, but entering the nether was gated behind 4 different bosses and ancient city loot. A little confused but had the spirit. If your pack has dimensions, 9/10 packs I know it does, you can totally make up lore about the meteorite spawning there and call it alien storage technology. The end? They have flying ships, spatial storage shouldn't seem like a problem. Deeper darker? whatever it's called the mod that lights the ancient city dimension? Sculk technology, bonus points if there was a sculky resource pack.
Anyway I hope my points made sense.
