SO excited that I got, Distant Horizon, Simple Clouds, and Shaders to work on a Create Aeronautics multiplayer server.

Thought ATM 10 was too much for me, i was wrong.
Im relatively new to modding, and honestly havent played that much minecraft other than the bi-yearly 2 week cycle.
When i started ATM 10 I quickly got super overwhelmed by the amount of items pouring into my inventory and almost gave up. Im so glad i didn’t because this is like a dopamine fountain.
If you’re in a similar spot, all i’ll say is push through until you have a good storage situation and then start setting goals or following quests. It has been so rewarding to slowly learn mods. It hurts my brain, but in a good way.
Also im playing hardcore which makes it that much more exciting. Sea serpents scared the shit out of me.

Mod categories are meaningless and serve almost no use
I’ve had a similar experience for years on curseforge but for this example its modrinth.
I select the game version and modloader i use, then i select "technology" because i want to browse some industrial or automation mods.
Sorted by "relevance"
First result is Veinminer.
Second result is Nature’s compass
Third is a patch for a shader pack
FOURTH is create.
I switch to "magic", show me the biggest magic mod available! Has someone finally made a magic mod to rival thaumcraft?
The first mod is enchantment descriptions.
I guess. Its magic *related*, even though the mod itself is just a client side UI change which im pretty sure a resource pack could do the job of.
I check out "equipment" and there’s veinminer again.
We can find veinminer at the #1 spot a third time under "utility" but to me that is where i should have found it in the first place.
I dont mean to talk down any of the mods i’ve mentioned, they’re all popular because they’re great mods. But i am really tired of how BORING it is to browse for mods. Every category has a 80% overlap with atleast one other.
All the coolest mods are overshadowed by simple utilities which are tangentially related to the category. The few great magic mods are buried under the same 100 mods you’ve seen again and again for years, just because there’s atleast 1 feature that kind of relates to the category. When i look up "adventure" i am not looking for 3D skin layers (i cant even imagine why that one is in adventure). There are so many interesting mods hidden under 80 pages of the same super popular mods you already know about.

Skarrier Mobs
Every mob in this mod feels like a genuine threat. Especially the Tunnel Gore. It's by far the best mob in the mod.
