What's up with all the minimap mods being closed source
There are 3 notable minimap mods I can find for modern versions of the game and all of them are closed source
Xaero's Minimap: ARR
Journeymap: ARR
VoxelMap: Source-available, but still ARR (weirdly released under 2 different users)
What's up with this? Most other mod categories have at the minimum open-source options but not this one
What's even gained from this? You can't monetize mods and none of them are (high chance of getting the physicsmod treatment if they were)

Why are almost all modpacks (especially the good ones) exclusively on curseforge?
I noticed that Curseforge (\~16,550 1.21.1 Neoforge packs) has so many more modpacks than Modrinth (\~1200 1.21.1 Neoforge packs) and all the popular/good ones are pretty much unheard of on Modrinth. Is FTB Quests (and its suite) really that influencial? I think Modrinth is the objectively better platform because of allowing mods from both Curseforge and itself.

I've only gotten to the electric age and am in the process of automating everything but it's been pretty fun so far. Does it get worse?
