After 5 years, the alpha version of the legendary Millénaire for NeoForge 1.21.1 has been released!
Kinniken just announced the release of Millénaire 9.0 Developer Preview 1 on their official Discord! It is a complete rewrite of the mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge. I absolutely love this mod and I am so happy to see it coming back to life!

I want to learn how to make minecraft mods. Which modloader should I start with?

Create haters, would you rather have a modpack without any tech mods (maybe only Quark and Supplementaries) or a modpack with Create?
I'm asking because i'm designing (i'll get to building soon) a modpack in the same spirit as Raspberry Flavored and other alt-minecraft modpacks, and i'm questioning whether adding Create is a good idea. It's a great mod imo, but like many of you have noted, it IS overused, but for a good reason, there's literally no tech mod that fills the gaps vanilla redstone can't and still fits into a Vanilla+/Alt-Vanilla modpack.
So, what is your opinion on this?

What's up with all the minimap mods being closed source
There are 3 notable minimap mods I can find for modern versions of the game and all of them are closed source
Xaero's Minimap: ARR
Journeymap: ARR
VoxelMap: Source-available, but still ARR (weirdly released under 2 different users)
What's up with this? Most other mod categories have at the minimum open-source options but not this one
What's even gained from this? You can't monetize mods and none of them are (high chance of getting the physicsmod treatment if they were)
