Modpacks that respect your time?
I’ve been delving into this intentional game stuff.
Minecraft is just a canvas, if you play vanilla minecraft just for the sake of the game you will get bored. If you use it as a blank canvas where you can create and design your own creative projects that’s where the magic comes from.
Vanilla Minecraft is by design, post ender dragon fight, a grindy game. Most big projects dedicate most of their time to AFKing farms or collecting and collecting resources. Then another chunk to re-building their design in survival mode.
Create solves a part of this problem, with enough rewarding and satisfying logical work, designing farms, building them, you can create a system where that recollecting part becomes minimal.
Rather the game becomes a creative and thinking outlet where you can design your own things in creative, and let they come alive by the works of Create automation and factory-like play style.
It also presents the schematicannon, a useful tool for building without all the grind. Litematica solves this partly too.
Often, there are modpacks that are praised for their length GTNH2 for instance and some other expert packs. I’ve found out that my lack of enjoyment for the game was primarily due to long, meaningless sessions where i would play for a couple hours and quit. This loop repeating over weeks if not months with ever changing modpacks, spending hours making them myself just not to play them at all, looking at reddit threads, etc.
If you want to skip the rant answer this:
What are some modpacks that don’t waste your time? Whose goals don’t feel artificial?
What modpacks are not just collections of: recollect this, craft this other thing, recollect more, craft this other thing in loops?
What modpacks respect your time and are not just slop? What modpacks bring you excitement and enjoyment to play?
What modpacks are you eager to boot up every time? Why?
