Part of that disparity is tied to the race of the victims. About 13% of murders by Black people have white victims, but twice as many—26% of innocent Black murder exonerees— were convicted of killing white people.
Innocent Black people are almost eight times more likely than white people to be falsely convicted of rape. A prisoner serving time for sexual assault is more than three times more likely to be innocent if he is Black than if he is white.
Black sexual assault exonerees also received harsher sentences than whites: 27% were sentenced to life imprisonment (55/207) compared to 17% for white sexual assault exonerees (20/116); of the rest, 17% of Black rape exonerees were sentenced to 45 years or longer (36/207), compared to 7% of whites (8/116)
On average, Black sexual assault exonerees spent more than four years longer in prison than white sexual assault exonerees, 13.5 years compared to 9.4 years.
Innocent Black people are about equally overrepresented among murder exonerees who were sentenced to death, 56%.

Knapp die Hälfte von ihnen (48 Prozent) hatte psychologische Gewalt erfahren. Dazu gehören Handlungen mit dem Ziel, die Frau zu dominieren, zu isolieren oder sie zu erniedrigen.
15 Prozent der Frauen gaben an, in den zwölf Monaten vor der Befragung physische Gewalt erlebt zu haben. Dabei ist diese Form der Gewalt in den Städten rund doppelt so verbreitet wie in ländlichen Gebieten. Insgesamt gut ein Drittel der Frauen (35,3 Prozent) sagten, dass sie mindestens einmal in ihrem Leben als Erwachsene physische Gewalt erfahren haben.
Von den verheirateten Frauen haben 6,4 Prozent in den zwölf Monaten vor der Befragung physische Gewalt in ihrer Ehe erlebt.
Knapp ein Viertel (23 Prozent) aller Marokkanerinnen, also rund 2,1 Millionen Frauen, haben gemäss der Studies des Haut-Commissariat au Plan mindestens einmal in ihrem Leben in einer Form sexuelle Gewalt erlebt.
Dabei sind im urbanen Umfeld die Frauen dreimal häufiger betroffen als auf dem Land. In den zwölf Monaten vor der Befragung wurden 8,7 Prozent oder 827‘000 Frauen Opfer sexueller Gewalt.
