- I see some people online, particularly on Twitter, criticising Iran's restoration of ties with Saudi Arabia & the Gulf states

They (rightfully) claim that these countries have betrayed the Islamic world, and specifically the Palestinian cause.

However, we should remember that these are still Muslim nations; and the Qur'an gives us a great piece of advice regarding this:

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَإِن جَنَحُوا لِلسَّلْمِ فَاجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In the name of God, the most Merciful, the most Benificent

{And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also], and rely upon Allah. Indeed, he is the all-Hearing and the all-Knowing}

(Holy Qur'an, Surah al-Anfal, Verse 61)

When a nation or a people inclines to peace, especially a Muslim nation, we should incline toward it also. Unity is what makes us strong.
