🇮🇷 NEW: Iran is holding a major military parade in Tehran, showcasing various newly mobilized formations marking the start of the ‘Janfada’ (self-sacrificing) campaign

A few days ago, millions of Iranians received SMS messages from the government calling upon citizens to voluntarily enlist into the military, if they are willing and able.

In the next few weeks and months, hundreds of thousands of new recruits are expected to be received as part of the Basij, Iran’s IRGC volunteer militia.

There are some within our sphere that may share images of women in Iran without Hijab to garner the sympathy of the West and show them that Iran is not ‘oppressive’.

Yes, Iran is not oppressive. However, oppression does not depend on whether the government implements the obligatory Hijab or not. It depends on whether the government abides by the will of the people, strives to increase their livelihoods, and to combat corruption. Hijab is simply a piece of fabric, and wearing it is a religious obligation and a national law.

By stating that Iran is not oppressive because women run around freely without Hijab, you are implying that it would be an injustice or an oppression if the Hijab was enforced. Which, most likely, will happen at some point in the future, and would be the correct step, as it is in accordance with national law and the religious beliefs of the vast majority of Iranians.

The matter has come ‘too far’ in Iran, and how women are displayed on the streets is currently not appropriate. However, the government has made the conscious decision not to intervene at this point in time, due to the sensitive political situation and the need to maintain national unity and social cohesion. The correct move.

The point I am trying to make is that Iranians don’t need the approval of the West. Whether Hijab is implemented or not, the Iranian people choose their own laws, their own way of life, and their own values. As Muslims, we may be tempted to show our non-Muslim friends that ‘Iran isn’t very strict’ when it comes to the Hijab, which is true — but this is not something we should be proud of, or something that we should be aiming for in the long term.

❗️🇺🇸/🇩🇰/🇬🇱 NEW: The U.S. will now have permanent access, basing and overflight rights in Greenland, and the ability to establish additional military installations as needed, according to a senior U.S. official who outlined the deal exclusively to Fox News

The deal bars China, Russia and other non-NATO countries from establishing military bases or maintaining troops.

It also restricts adversaries from investing in sensitive sectors that could pose a threat to U.S. national security.

Only the United States and its allies will be allowed to make investments in sectors such as telecommunications infrastructure, undersea cables, ports and critical minerals.
