I would not be surprised if it escalates into rockets being fired at Tel Aviv and Haifa like we saw in the 2021 war.

- 🇷🇺 NOTE: Some people have been talking a lot about the fact that there was only one tank (T-34) in Russia's victory day parade

Mostly Pro-NATO observers have claimed that this shows the true colors of Russian military capability; they assess that all tanks have either been destroyed or are currently deployed at the front. However, there is another perspective that might go unnoticed.

In 2022, after the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Russia held a major victory day parade which featured T-14 Armata, T-72 and several other relatively modern tanks.

This was met by heavy criticism from pro-Russian mil bloggers, journalists and other observers alike. It was seen as a stab in the back to those soldiers at the front asking for reinforcements and backup; seeing a massive parade in Moscow while waiting for armor support on the battlefield is not a good look.

I think both analyses are partly true. I don't buy into the NATO narrative that Russia has no more tanks, this is very unlikely.

However, their tank stockpiles have indeed considerably decreased due to the war. But the most likely explanation for what we saw in the parade is an attempt at positive PR, an attempt to correct their mistake from 2022.
