- 🇷🇺 REPORT: Russian fighter jet fired missile at manned British surveillance aircraft last year

Classified documents show that a Russian fighter jet fired a missile at a manned British surveillance aircraft in September 2022, but the missile malfunctioned.

According to the report by NYT, the Russian pilot misinterpreted what the radar operator on the ground was saying to him, and mistakingly believed he had permission to fire at the British aircraft.

Miraculously, due to a technical failure, the missile did not launch properly, and disaster was averted.

The incident would have amounted to an "act of war".
