About the only Christian community in America that seems even remotely close to Muslim levels of seriousness about their religious values is the Amish, and they can only maintain that by being completely cut off from the modern world.
But yeah, I guess if they asked us to help raise a barn or something, there's room for allyship.๐

๐นThe Central Bank of Egypt ๐ช๐ฌ , and the Central Bank of the UAE ๐ฆ๐ช have established a bilateral currency swap agreement valued at approximately $1.4 billion. Up to 5 billion dirhams and 42 billion Egyptian pounds would be allowed for exchange. The deal is part of Egypt's efforts to find solutions for its ongoing economic challenges and crisis.
๐นEgypt๐ช๐ฌ is battling its worst foreign currency squeeze in years. The country has devalued the pound three times since early 2022, allowing it to lose almost half its value against the USD ๐ต. The IMF is urging Egyptian authorities to permit greater flexibility in the country's currency before providing additional funding as part of a $3 billion rescue program.
๐นThe UAE and Egypt (both new BRICS members) are now also part of a BRICS research group looking into potential agreements on a basket of local currencies and payment systems so BRICS nations can pay each other based on a set of solutions comparing currency rates. Note that the UAE (new member) and Egypt are also dialogue partners of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

With the growing animosity between the West and India, there is a potentially exploitable opportunity for Indian Muslims to recruit Western support against Modi and RSS. Or rather, an opportunity that Muslim oppression may be exploited by the West to undermine the BJP government.
In my opinion, however, such a strategy would only broaden the rift between India and the West, and would only intensify persecution against the Muslims in India.
Alternatively, Muslim-majority countries, particularly the Gulf States, could (and should) use this moment to intervene. India is alienating some of its most powerful friends right now, and it does not want to become isolated. These circumstances would amplify the potency of global Muslim condemnation.

A brief story from prison:
When I was in the โMuderiyyaโ, the detention center in Sharjah before being transferred to the Central Prison, the inmates were crowded so tightly into the rooms that if you could find a place to lay down, there wasnโt even enough space to turn over.
There was a huge Nigerian man, a Christian, named Sonny, who was very loud and aggressive. He was probably about 2 metres tall, muscular and extremely angry. He had been detained for several weeks, and there seemed to be no solution to his problems. Because of his size and demeanor, everyone was scared of him, and tried to avoid him as much as possible.
At one point, I found myself laying in a place where Sonny used to sleep, and I saw that he had drawn a christian cross on the wall and written the words โGod is goodโ.
Prisoners are very innovative, and they had learned to make paste from bread crumbs, water, and cigarette ashes, so I took a piece of paper, applied the paste to it, and glued it on the wall to cover the cross, leaving the words uncovered. The other prisoners became nervous about this and told me Sonny would be angry. I said, โit is enough what we are going through, I am not going to sit in a jail in a Muslim country, surrounded by Muslims, and have to look at a Christian cross on the wall.โ
Nothing happened. Then another day, I found myself back at the same spot and saw that Sonny had ripped off the paper. So, I started trying to rub the ink off the wall with my thumb while Sonny was out of the room. Again, the other prisoners were nervous. The ink wouldnโt come off, so I took the little wire used to tie the plastic bags of bread, and started to scratch the cross off the wall. I told the others to tell me when Sonny was coming back.
While I was in the process of scratching the drawing off the wall, they told me โStop! Stop! Heโs coming!โ but I stayed where I was and continued. When Sonny came in, I called him over.
โI am removing this from the wall because it disturbs me,โ i told him. โThe cross is an instrument of torture and execution. It is a symbol that represents the lie that our Prophet Jesus was abandoned by God and murdered by his enemies. I know this is not what it means to you, but it is deeply offensive to us, and I am sure you do not want to offend us, just as you do not want us to offend you. So I am leaving the words โGod is goodโ because this is true, and we agree on that.โ
You may be surprised by Sonnyโs reaction. He respected what I said, and the fact that I was direct with him, and he actually scratched the cross off the wall himself.
You may be further surprised to learn that over the next two weeks, Sonny and I discussed Islam and Christianity at length, and he eventually embraced Islam.

Clare Daly comment on Ursula von der leyen's Zionist tweet:
"Who do you think you are? You're unelected, and have no authority to determine EU foreign policy, which is set by @EUCouncil. Europe does NOT "stand with Israel." We stand for peace. You do not speak for us. If you've nothing constructive to say, and you clearly don't, shut up."

It is true that two wrongs don't make a right, as we love to point out to the people we have wronged.
But one wrong doesn't make a right, either.
People who have been wronged will attempt to right the wrong; they would not be people if they didn't. They can rarely afford to be scrupulous about the means they will use. They will use such means as come to hand. Neither, in the main, will they distinguish one oppressor from another, nor see through to the root principle of their oppression.
-- James Baldwin

In my opinion, the narrative being pushed by Israel and the American Right wing, that Iran is behind the Hamas incursion, is opportunistic spin; and it more or less confirms for me that Iran had no significant involvement.
