“I cannot bear to think of what they did to him, or how they left him to die like this.”

Desperate screams from her twenty-four-year-old son as he struggled to free himself from a combat dog unleashed by Israeli soldiers is the last image Nabila Ahmed Bhar recalls of her son Muhammed who had Down syndrome.

Bhar and her family had been trapped in their home as Israeli troops, under the cover of heavy air strikes, raided eastern Gaza City’s Shujaiya on 27 June.

🎥 Social media users have renewed calls for a boycott of the upcoming Captain America film after the release of a trailer on Friday showed scenes of Israeli actor Shira Haas playing Ruth Bat-Seraph, an Israeli character who was featured in comics as the super-powered Sabra.

Initial boycott calls sparked back in 2022, when the casting of Haas for the role of Sabra was announced. Sabra, introduced in Marvel’s comics in the 1980s, is shown wearing outfits with the colours of Israel’s flag, ornamented with the Star of David.

The original backstory of the character has her working as an agent for Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency.

However, Marvel announced that in the movie the character will be a former Black Widow and a “high-ranking US official”, seemingly altering or minimising elements of the character that were seen as controversial.

🎥 “Even though Mohammed couldn't speak properly, he started saying, ‘Boy, boy, no, no, get away, get away."

The mother of Mohammed Bhar, a young Palestinian man with Down syndrome and diagnosed with autism, recounted his final moments after Israeli forces broke into their home in the Shujayya neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, and unleashed a combat dog that began mauling him.

Israeli troops raided Shujayya under the cover of heavy air strikes on 27 June. For two weeks, they continuously bombed the densely populated area, stormed houses and expelled tens of thousands of people.

🎥 Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has entered the grounds of Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.

The Wafa news agency reports that he entered under heavy police protection.
Ben Gvir said that he has come to "the most important place for the State of Israel, for the people of Israel, to pray for the hostages to return home, but without a reckless deal, without surrender".

"I am praying and am also working hard so that the prime minister will have the strength not to fold and go on to victory: to add military pressure, to stop their fuel, to win," he said.

Al Aqsa is the third holiest site in Islam, and a heavy point of contention in Jerusalem.

Unicef, the UN’s children agency, published a statement on X, formerly Twitter, condemning the killing of the children.

Tensions have been rising around the Israel-Lebanon border, with Israel and Hezbollah exchanging cross-border fire on a near-daily basis.

🎥 Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called Palestinian Knesset members Ahmed Tibi and Ayman Odeh "terrorists" during a Knesset session on Wednesday, demanding their removal from the Knesset.

As the Knesset members approached the speaker's podium, security guards attempted to stop them by force, prompting members from Likud to rush towards them.

In 2008, the Jerusalem District Court found Ben Gvir guilty of incitement to racism and supporting a terrorist organisation, according to The Times of Israel.

This conviction stemmed from his display of a placard reading "Arabs out" and anti-Arab signs in his car, which were linked to the far-right Kach movement, a Jewish group banned as a terrorist organisation.

📰 A reported drone attack on central Tel Aviv, Israel killed one person and injured several others, according to the Israeli army.

Yemen’s Houthis seemed to claim responsibility for the attack, saying they “carried out a specific military operation, which consisted of targeting one of the important targets in the occupied Jaffa region, what is now called Israeli Tel Aviv”.

Calling their new drone “Yafa”, the Houthis claimed it is capable of bypassing Israel’s interception systems.

The Times of Israel reported that eight people have been hospitalised following the drone explosion, which seems to have avoided detection from Israel’s defences.

#BREAKING: The UK government will restore funding to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (Unrwa), the foreign secretary announced on Friday.

David Lammy said in a statement to parliament that the UK would provide £21 million ($27.1 million) in new funding to the agency.

It came five months after Britain suspended financing the agency, along with several other western countries, after Israel accused 12 of the 30,000 Unrwa employees of participating in Hamas’ surprise attack on southern Israel on 7 October.

🎥 AFP’s Palestinian photojournalist Said Khatib was awarded Spain’s prestigious Mingote Prize in a ceremony attended by Spain’s King Felipe VI on Thursday for a photo of Palestinian children amidst the rubble of collapsed buildings in Rafah.

“Khatib reminds us again of the infinite power of an image.” King Felipe VI, expressing his appreciation of Khatib’s photo, spoke of the “lasting message” conveyed through it, and highlighted the significance of the award as a commemoration of Khatib’s fellow reporters who have lost their lives “in this and many other wars and conflicts.”

The photo, which Khatib took on October 12 of last year, captures the moment Palestinian children in their family’s car stare out the window at a destroyed area of Rafah, bombed by Israeli missiles, which only a few days ago was still intact

🎥 Yemen’s Houthis have claimed responsibility for a deadly drone attack on Tel Aviv early on Friday that killed at least one person and injured multiple others.

Yahya Saree, the Houthis’ military spokesperson, said that they used a new drone for the attack that is “capable of bypassing Israel’s interception systems”, adding that they declare the Tel Aviv area “unsafe” and that it would be “a primary target within the range of our weapons”.

Israel’s air force said it had identified the drone but not intercepted it due to a “human error”. The military said it would increase fighter jet patrols to “defend Israel’s skies”.

The unprecedented attack took place hours after Israel killed two top commanders from the Lebanese Iran-backed group Hezbollah in south Lebanon
Following an assessment with Israeli army officials regarding Friday’s Houthi drone attack, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said his country will respond.

“The defence establishment is working to immediately strengthen all defence systems, and will settle the score with anyone who harms the State of Israel or directs terror against it,” he said in remarks provided by his office.

One person was killed and several others injured in the attack, according to the Israeli army.
Yemen’s Houthis said they “carried out a specific military operation, which consisted of targeting one of the important targets in the occupied Jaffa region, what is now called Israeli Tel Aviv”.

Calling their new drone “Yafa”, named after the old city that is now part of modern-day Tel Aviv, the Houthis, known as Ansar Allah, claimed it is capable of bypassing Israel’s interception systems
