Learning Go as a side project. Built a CLI tool for removing duplicate files via hash comparison: keeps originals, deletes copies, supports recursive scans, exclusions, size filters (KB/MB/GB), JSON output, safe handling of inaccessible files, and progress feedback. Goal: build a game engine using Go as its scripting language.

Once @atocodes finds it problematic publishing and distributing your own work without paying for the platforms, also it is easy to put it on your website but still that's hard, one it can't be trusted and also it can't be known and distributed as you want and me now am on that place trying to publish it, and since this is cmd app am trying to use winget for windows, brew for mac and the linux package manager too as the OS, so i'll update you if there is a way of publishing your own app easily and freely, and will share you the ups and downs😵💫

I get what you’re saying, but I see it a bit differently.
Distribution on major platforms definitely adds a layer of trust, but it’s not the only source of it. Trust doesn’t just come from security or where something is hosted it also comes from your reputation and connection with your audience. Your presence, consistency, and the quality of your work matter just as much.
From my perspective, whether I host an app myself or publish it through a store, the difference in downloads isn’t always huge it often depends more on how well people know and trust me already.
So my approach is to focus on building that trust first: through my name, my work, and how I show up online. Platforms earn trust over time through their track record, and I think developers can do the same.
For now, I’d rather keep shipping, sharing my work, and building that connection with people while using whatever hosting I can. Then, when I move to store distribution, it becomes more of an upgrade not the foundation.

ከተሳካ I am going to be a Tecno Mobile assembler 😄
እንግዲህ Tecno ተጠቃሚ ሆይ… if you’re not installing the apps I built, don’t worry 😁
I might just install them by default while assembling your phones anyway 📱😂
