We are nothing.

I've always taught everyone around me to question their beliefs, to question the external matters.

To be critical of everything and to think for themselves before trusting any-one/thing.

What I'm about to say may seem like an exaggeration of this teaching but.. just think about it.

Can you ever be sure that anything in the outside world apart from your own mind and perception is real?

Can you be certain that a friend you talk to every day, a store you buy stuff from, a person you dream of every night is actually real?

Solipsism says they're not.

And I'm not saying this just because I watched a video or read an article about solipsism and decided to share my "knowledge".

I am genuinely questioning everything. You can never be certain about anything, which, actually, makes everything not real.

If a tree falls in the forest and there's noone to see it, would it make a sound?

Did it actually fall or was it just there the whole time, laying on the ground, existing in that state?

No, it wouldn't make a sound. The tree only exists if someone saw it.

The outside world is only real if there's someone to perceive it. Any fact is only true if you get to know about it.

But if anything apart from the mind can't exist and if it can't be perceived by anything except the mind...

If it can't be perceived then it cannot exist, if anything that existed was the mind and its perception then the actual world wouldn't be there and...

We'd be what? Nothing.

We'd be nothing. And it's absurd.
