Content Warning: Police murder, violence

It is important to review the details of the police murder of Nicolás Morales Bessania in Immokalee on September 17, 2020. Following a 911 disturbance call, police shot the unarmed father of a 12-year-old boy, who was facing a mental lapse at the time.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office released dashcam footage after the State Attorney's office declared the murder "lawful and justifiable".

Tonight, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and other groups protested outside of the Citizen Review Panel in Naples, where civilians will review the actions of the officers responsible.

Civil rights organizations, such as the CIW and the Lee County NAACP, have so far tried in futility to obtain more information about the legal backing to the State Attorney's decision not to charge any officers who carried out the shooting.

In 2019, Frank Ordonez was shut by police in cold blood inside his truck, which had been hijacked by criminals attempting a getaway after robbing a jewelry store. Another bystander, Rick Cutshaw, was also killed by police. 2 years later, police continue to cover up policy violations and cover up for their own while local media portrays the event as a "shootout".

Florida politicians are a special breed.
For weeks now, DeSantis has sucked dry the money of taxpayers by deploying the Florida National Guard to attack migrants at the border seeking a better life. The Governor's endeavor has cost taxpayers at least $1.6 million since July, a number believed to be underestimated and likely to rise in the near future.

Police have shot someone in Homestead, and are refusing to release any details or even say whether or not the person shot was armed. We always know what ends up occurring when police refuse to state whether someone had a gun, of course.
