when it comes to learning and if you're starting out, i'd go for TCM rather than Comptia tbh. you won't benefit much from comptia. with that said, you can find some TCM courses on files channel i've also created a github gist on how to extract zip files withβ¦
for those who asked me for a roadmap, this might be a good starting point:

i was reading a book on Web pentesting, and got a question for myself, should I have Kali as a primary OS or better to use virtualization? Hypervisor 1 or Hypervisor 2? i am thinking to write a mini-blog, stay tuned @Mi_Ra_Ch
Running Kali as Your Main OS:
Pros: It's packed with all the pentesting tools you need right out of the box, so no extra setup required
Cons: It can be a bit unstable and resource-hungry. If youβre multitasking (coding, browsing, gaming), it might slow you down. Plus, there's a risk of exposing your main environment to vulnerabilities.
Virtualization: A Smarter Move?
Isolation: Running Kali in a VM keeps your pentesting activities separate from your main OS (less risk if something goes wrong)
Snapshots: You can revert back to a clean state anytime. basically like having a time machine for your testing
Resource Management: Adjust CPU and RAM allocations dynamically based on what you need.
Hypervisor Choices:
Type 1 (Bare-Metal): More efficient and runs directly on hardware (think VMware ESXi). Great for serious pentesters running multiple VMs.
Type 2 (Hosted): Easier to set up on an existing OS (like VirtualBox). Perfect for casual users or those just starting out.
my thoughts
using Kali as your primary OS has its perks, but virtualization usually wins out in terms of security and flexibility. i'm currently running zorin os (thinking to switch to arch), and i use a script to install pentest tools whenever i switch distros (basically installing all tools found on kali). i know a successful BBP hunter using mac for all his professional pentest work. so kinda depends on your interest. but doing your job on linux just makes you a better pentester, and you can further go down to networking concepts and advanced linux administration since most servers still use ubuntu.

Saw a post from Alex Hormozi:
Every single thing I've ever been good at... or succeeded at... or done for so long, I've had to make ridiculous mistakes.
Imagine if I wasn't willing to make a second mistake when dealing with After Effects. What if I didn't get another meeting after I screwed up that client meeting? 8 years of experience in my field and I'm still making mistakes. Don't be your own bully, boys.
A lot of success comes down to sticking with something long enough to make the number of mistakes required to actually figure it out. Otherwise, you just keep starting from zero every month.
