NIFTY – What Actually Happened Today (CLBS Read)
Today’s move was not random. The structure was visible through the day if you watched the data carefully.
From the morning itself two things were clear:
• VIX was cooling
• Day-low imbalance suggested seller exhaustion
That is why the downside momentum started fading early.
Because of that signal we exited PE near support and shifted the approach to two-way rotation trading instead of forcing shorts.
For most of the session NIFTY respected levels and rotated cleanly between support and dealer pivot, which allowed multiple range trades.
The key trigger came later.
Once 24,700 gamma pivot broke, dealers started hedging and trapped shorts began to exit. That created the short-covering burst toward the highs.
So the move was a combination of:
• VIX cooling
• Day-low imbalance exhaustion
• Clear two-way rotation through the day
• Short covering trigger above dealer pivot
