What's new?
🌇10 tropical cities
Now your path to the top starts with 10 unique cities. We have completely redesigned the city development system. Previously, there was a single city and an office that you had to develop. We have revised the approach to city progression and now in each city you will find 5 unique buildings, which you need to pump up to level 5 to open the next city. The more cities you open - the higher your progress in the game.
Now you get energy and MTD for leveling up a building and moving to a new city.
We used to build in the sky, but now the location of bridges depends on cities, and each new group of cities is a new location. In this update, the first location is the tropical islands.
The higher the level of your city, the bigger the reward for building bridges!

After the change of the game's vector, many people were worried about the question: what will happen to the game next? What are the plans, what are going to be implemented/changed/refined? Will the old mechanics return? And why did they choose this way? Why are updates taking so long to come out? 👀
Since the change of direction in Q3 2024, we've been evolving the game towards simple casual mechanics and a wider audience. We know that there are both supporters and opponents of this idea among the audience of current players. But this is the vector within which MetaTrace will continue its development. We do not plan to return the mechanics of past versions of the game in the same format.⚙️
The project team has undergone changes and has been greatly reduced. At the same time, the game itself needs improvements and we can see that. We want to release updates faster, better, more interesting. But with the current resources it takes time.🫡

Attack on Infrastructure on April 21
On April 21, at approximately 16:22 UTC, we detected suspicious activity within our infrastructure. Our investigation has determined that this activity was enabled by a vulnerability deliberately introduced by a former employee.
As soon as we became aware of the incident, we took immediate measures to secure the system and prevent the attacker from gaining full access, and we transferred all assets to secure wallets.
We have also confirmed that the vulnerability affected only legacy wallets created before January 26, 2025. New users and their wallets remain unaffected.
We acknowledge that this situation is unacceptable and are working around the clock to fully restore the security of our platform.
We strongly encourage anyone who observed suspicious transactions or was impacted by this incident to complete the compensation request form🔔. We will process all claims as quickly as possible.
We also urge all legacy users (those registered before January 26, 2025) to withdraw any NFTs and tokens from their gaming wallets and refrain from using them until we have eliminated the security risk. All assets stored in user profiles are safe.
In the coming days, we will be updating and hardening all security components; some nodes may be temporarily taken offline for maintenance. We will notify you in advance of any planned downtime.

Important MetaTrace Announcement (1/2)
😮 Throughout MetaTrace’s three-year journey, more than 200 people have worked on the project. In total, over $8.5 million has been invested in its development and growth, millions of lines of code have been written, and tens of thousands of hours of hard work have been logged.
🔥 We’ve also built a tightly knit community around MetaTrace. Thank you to each of you for your contributions and belief in the project, for introducing your friends to the game, and for supporting our efforts.
😵💫 Since the beginning of 2025, however, MetaTrace has faced serious challenges. After a series of critical financial and managerial missteps—and two years of uncertainty for both players and the team, asking “What exactly is MetaTrace?”—our former CEO was unable to withstand the pressure and simply stepped away from the project.
↗️ Through it all, our remaining team has continued pushing out updates, fixing bugs, and refining game mechanics with almost no resources but with unwavering faith in our vision and our community. We’ve reduced our headcount eightfold, yet we’ve kept up a rapid development pace.

Unfortunately, these efforts have not been sufficient to reach a point where game revenues fully cover our operating expenses.
🏳️ MetaTrace is now entering a support-and-investment-seeking phase. We have no intention of stopping: we know MetaTrace is a game with a rich history—and even greater potential. But we also recognize that we cannot realize that potential without continued development and the necessary resources.
💪 We have a clear vision of what we want to build and why MetaTrace can capture the market. Accordingly, we are opening a Series B funding round to raise capital for further development and to scale our game infrastructure.
