日美实现磁约束氢硼聚变

日本国家聚变科学研究所和美国 TAE 技术公司合作，首次在磁约束聚变等离子体中实现了氢—硼聚变实验。研究团队表示，尽管最新试验没有产生净能量增益，但它证明了无中子核聚变的可行性，使制造更清洁的聚变反应堆成为可能。目前全球有多个团队正力图实现可控核聚变。可控核聚变主要的方式大概有3种：引力约束、惯性约束和磁约束，占据主流的托卡马克装置属于磁约束，主要利用氢的同位素氘—氚作为聚变燃料。在最新研究中，科学家们在日本国家聚变科学研究所的大型螺旋装置中进行了氢—硼核聚变，并借助 TAE 开发的探测器，测量出了反应产物：氦核（α粒子）。TAE 公司认为氢—硼是最清洁、最具成本竞争力的聚变燃料，因为它不仅原料丰富，而且“实现了更清洁的聚变反应堆的概念，反应产物仅三个α粒子。”
