systemd 作者 Lennart Poettering 离开 Red Hat 之后加盟了微软公司，成为软件巨人雇佣的最新一位知名开源开发者。Poettering 在微软继续从事 systemd 的开发工作。微软雇佣过或正在雇佣多位知名的开源开发人士：Python 作者 Guido van Rossum；GNOME 作者 Miguel de Icaza 在微软收购其联合创办的 Xamarin 公司后加入微软，今年初离职；Xamarin 的另一位联合创始人 Nat Friedman 担任过 GitHub CEO，去年离职；Gentoo Linux 创始人 Daniel Robbins、Linux CIFS/SMB2/SMB3 维护者 Steve French、Matteo Croce、Matthew Wilcox、Shyam Prasad N、Michael Kelley 等等。过去半个月加入微软的内核开发者是 Christian Brauner，曾在 Canonical 公司工作过。
