A 39-year-old Joanna Lopez was Shot Dead after he used a 68-year-old woman as a human shield while holding a knife to her neck.

⚡The Jammu and Kashmir Police have booked 23 alleged overground workers under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in the past month in the aftermath of the deadly Pahalgam attack in Kashmir.

All those booked are from the Kashmir Valley, with police records showing that the maximum number are residents of Srinagar.

These arrests have been made based on information and evidence available with the force. They have been lodged in different jails of the UT of J&K.

The PSA allows the police to detain any person without trial for up to two years, subject to a review every six months, “in the case of persons acting in any manner prejudicial to the security of the State”.

⚡ An Indian New Zealander Dr Sapna Samant has been stripped of her automatic right to return to her home country (India), being told she has tried to "fuel disharmony" among the community.

Alleged filmmaker Dr Sapna Samant was warned in January her Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status could be revoked, but she was allowed a written appeal.

The decision has now been upheld by the Indian High Commission in Wellington.

Dr. Sapna Samant, a New Zealand-based general practitioner, writer, and filmmaker, is the founder of the Aotearoa Alliance of Progressive Indians (AAPI) and a member of Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR), linked to George Soros's Open Society Foundation.
