A security official has said that the 10 suspected militants killed in an encounter in Manipur on Wednesday were Myanmar nationals.

The bodies of Myanmar nationals were handed over to the authorities there, an official added. A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said initial assessments suggest that the neutralised individuals were known for involvement in cross-border insurgent activity.
