Abdul Rauf Azhar — an Islamist terrorist, co-conspirator in the 2002 abduction and beheading of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, and mastermind of the IC-814 hijacking — was among dozens of terrorists eliminated in the operation.

During Operation Sindoor, Kozhikode resident Jihadi Mujeeb Rahman, posing as PMO official Raghavan, contacted Kochi Naval headquarters seeking INS Vikrant's precise location. The Navy withheld details and informed local police.

Rahman was arrested, charged under BNS Section 319(2) and the Official Secrets Act, and is now under interrogation by state police, Navy, and Intelligence Bureau.
