❗Centre tells states, UTs to invoke emergency powers amid India-Pak conflict

Home Ministry has directed states and Union Territories (UTs) to invoke emergency powers under the Civil Defence Rules, 1968, reports said on Friday. Section 11 of the rules can be invoked for efficient implementation of necessary precautionary measures. This will empower state governments to take urgent measures to protect people and property and ensure smooth running of essential services.
