Another Hindu Woman Beheaded in Live-In Relationship: Mushtaq Posed as ‘Ajit’ to Lure and Murder Pooja

Pooja Mandal, a 35-year-old divorcee and mother of two, met taxi driver Mushtaq Ahmed in 2022 during her mother’s treatment in Uttarakhand.

Introducing himself as ‘Ajit’, Mushtaq developed a relationship with Pooja, which led to a live-in arrangement in Gurugram.

In November 2024, Pooja discovered that Mushtaq had secretly married another woman.

Confrontations ensued, leading to their eviction from Mushtaq’s family home in Uttarakhand

On November 16, 2024, Mushtaq lured Pooja to a secluded area near the Nadanna canal in Khatima, Uttarakhand, under the pretense of a walk. There, he murdered her by slitting her throat, wrapped her body in a bedsheet, and disposed of it under a bridge

Pooja’s sister filed a missing person report in December 2024. Mushtaq was arrested in April 2025

He confessed to the crime and led police to the site where Pooja’s decapitated body was recovered. Her head remains missing.
