China has reportedly ordered its airlines to halt all new Boeing $BA jet deliveries and suspend purchases of U.S. aircraft parts, in direct response to President Trump’s 145% tariff escalation, according to Bloomberg.

The order could delay entry of about 10 Boeing 737 Max jets—destined for carriers like China Southern, Air China, and Xiamen Airlines—that are either parked near Boeing’s Seattle facility or at a finishing center in Zhoushan, China. Some jets may still be cleared on a case-by-case basis if delivery paperwork was finalized before April 12.

Beijing is also reportedly looking at ways to ease cost burdens for airlines leasing U.S. aircraft.
