The circulation of Rs 2,000 banknote, introduced into the financial system in 2016, has declined by 12.60 per cent to 214.20 Crore pieces during the year ended March 2022 as against 245.10 Crore pieces in 2021 and 27,398 lakh in 2020, according to the latest the Reserve Bank of India data.
