Supreme Court refuses to entertain plea against Allahabad HC ruling that held that "grabbing minors breasts, breaking pyjama string and dragging her beneath a culvert is not a crime of rape."

A bench of Justices Bela Trivedi and Prasanna B. Varale dismissed the petition by stating that the Court is not inclined to entertain the same.

The counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner began his submission by stating something related to the “Beti Bachai Beti Padhao scheme” before he was interrupted by Justice Bela Trivedi.

Justice Trivedi clarified that there should be no “lecture baazi” (lectures) from the counsels appearing before it on the subject.

The Court then proceeded to dismiss the plea.

🚨 RBI has approved an increase in ATM interchange fees, raising charges by Rs 2 for financial and Re 1 for non-financial transactions from May 1.

Central government has notified the increase in the salary, daily allowance, pension and additional pension of Members of Parliament (MPs) and Ex-Members of Parliament, which will be effective from April 1, 2023

The monthly salary has been increased from 1 lakh to Rs 1.24 lakh. The daily allowance has been raised from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500. The monthly pension has been revised from Rs 25,000 to Rs 31,000

Auckland School Shimla Issues Eid Circular, Withdraws After VHP and Public outrage.

Auckland House School, a reputed institution in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla, has landed in controversy after issuing a circular instructing junior students to wear white kurta-pyjama and a small 'cap' for an Eid-ul-Fitr celebration on March 28 (2025).
