A day after a mob pelted stones at the Udayagiri police station in Mysore, leaving several police personnel injured, the police have identified a provocative speech by one Mufti Mushtaq Maqbool, for the violence.
They are now on the lookout for the individual while eight people have been arrested.
Mufti Mushtaq Maqbool reportedly made provocative speeches holding a public address system and called for death sentence and hanging for one Suresh for allegedly targeting Muslims.
Those arrested include Suhail aka Syed Suhail, Raheel Pasha, Syed Sadiq, Ayan, Ajaz, Sadiq Pasha, Arbaz Sharif and Shoaib Pasha.
More arrests in the case are expected in the coming days.
They are now on the lookout for the individual while eight people have been arrested.
