Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Vande Bharat sleeper train is expected to be operational for passengers within the next three months. Once production commences, two to three trains will be rolled out every month, he said.

A law student was discovered deceased in the girls' hostel of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University. The victim has been identified as Anika Rastogi, the daughter of senior IPS officer Santosh Rastogi. According to reports, Anika was found unconscious on the floor of her hostel room and was promptly taken to Apollo Medics Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical staff.

Anika's father, IPS Santosh Rastogi, serves as an Inspector General in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Lucknow Commissioner also visited the scene later that night to assess the situation.
