His name is Tanuj Chahar. He used to work for the UP Police but was suspended or possibly fired. He is already married and has a wife and a 20-year-old son, whom he is said to have abandoned.
Tanuj had an affair with the mother of this child, who is his(Tarun's) cousin's daughter and much younger than him. This cousin's daughter was also married to someone else, but they later had a court marriage, after which the child was born.
Tanuj was shunned by his family and society for having a relationship with his cousin. The family of the woman took her away, which may have led Tanuj to take drastic action. He took the child when the baby was just 11 months old and changed his appearance to avoid being recognized by the police. According to some reports, he sometimes had to sleep on the streets.
