Doctors lost part of a patient's skull and billed him $146,000 for a replacement.

It happened in Atlanta. The man was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage, underwent emergency surgery, and had part of his skull temporarily removed - 11 x 15 cm.

When everything healed a couple of weeks later, it turned out that they couldn't find the removed bone.

They had to make a synthetic plate to replace it. The guy got offended and sued the hospital.
