One good news that went unheard yesterday-
A day back a landmark verdict was awarded in favour of the Raghunath Temple (Srinagar, Kashmir) by the J&K and Ladakh HC.
The court restored ₹400 Crore assets of the Raghunath Temple, and scrapped all fake land transfers associated with it. The HC has ordered for immediate takeover of 140 Kanals of Temple Land situated in Bagat-e-Barzulla. This land was illegally occupied by Sr. Advocate & Former J&K Bar Association President, Mian Qayoom. On the illegally occupied temple lands he had settled his family members in more than 25 houses, and had even built a mosque.
The HC has asked all these structural encroachments to be removed.
The Raghunath Temple in Srinagar, was repeatedly attacked and vandalised by radical Mu$Lims in 1989, 90, 91, and 92.
Murtis of Sri Rama & Maa Sita were broken and thrown into the Jhelum River.
The construction of the temple was started by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1835, however he could not complete the temple. After his death the work was completed by his son, Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1860.
