'Shia Sunni Kalesh in Kashmir'
Rahullah Mehdi, Member Parliament from Srinagar posted this on X.
"You cannot fight communalism and fascism while there is a sectarian beast inside you. While we are fighting or claim to be fighting fascism in the country, we should introspect and address the hypocrites inside us.
A lot has been said and done during the last 13-14 days of Muharram from the both sides in Kashmir. From calling fellow Muslims Kafir to a video of mourners reciting a Noha inside Khanqah of Shah Hamadan in Srinagar which has become a centre of this hypocrite debate.
I want to humbly address both the sides here with the below submission:
- It was not the first time that a small little group of mourners mourned Imam Hussain (A.S) and dedicated a few couplets to Him inside Khanqah. But this time it was manipulated and exploited by certain hypocrites for their political purposes the way they would post videos and photos of themselves being part of these mourning ceremonies only till last year when they thought it would benefit them politically.
The general reaction to this video was unfortunate and pushed beyond limits. From the calls to washing of Khanqah (giving ghusl) to what not.
Why these calls? Why this hate and othering? What sin did they commit there that calls for such extreme reactions? Apart from mourning Imam Hussain (A.S) if they have uttered a word of disrespect towards the pious companions of the Prophet (S.A.W.A.W), I take it upon myself to identify each one of them and get them punished. If that was not the case, then please look inwards and introspect.
- To those who went there and conducted that small ceremony inside the Khanqah:
What was the need? What urged you to do that? Was it for your own satisfaction or was it for Imam Hussain (A.S)? If it was for Imam Hussain (a) then represent Him the way He would want you to. Represent Him (a) by His principles not by your own desires. One such basic principle is applying common sense and legitimacy. One of the basic facts that Imam derived the Legitimacy for His march towards Kufa was that He was INVITED. He (a) invoked this fact from the first day of His travel towards Kufa to the last moment of His Life in Karbala and derived legitimacy from it - along with many other facts- for His march towards Kufah.
When invited, He did not just get up and go in excitement. He sent His ambassador to enquire about the invitations. He didnβt want to go unwanted. He didnβt want to force Himself in or upon them.
Were you invited in the Khanqah? Did you have the invitation? Were Imam bargah or Mosques not enough for you where you could do it? What forced you to do it the way that even Imam wouldnβt?
Have you nerve heard about this principle of Quran;
Imam Hussainβs (a.s) glory is that He is sought by people, He is not imposed upon them.
Lastly, my humble request to all is that letβs please shed this hatred, sectarian and othering. You all claim to be against fascism and communalism. Therefore grow above all these tendencies of othering. If we want equal rights and respect for all humans (of all faiths and beliefs), then kill this sectarian beast in side you. If you donβt. Then there is no difference between you and the regime & ideology ruling the country at the moment."

This wouldn't come to light, if MP didn't share it.
There is a kalesh among Shias and Sunnis in Kashmir....after Shias during Muharram went to a Sunni holy site..
Now Sunni muslims are demanding to wash the place to cleanse it.

Tensions in the new π«π·French parliamentβ¦
In accordance with tradition, the first session is chaired by the oldest MP, with the youngest MP being his secretary.
22-year-old Flavien Termet from Le Penβs National Rally is supposed shake hands with MPs after they vote.
The MPs from the far-left alliance all refuse to shake his hand.
One of them, the former communist party member and Algerian migrant from Marseille SΓ©bastien Delogu, stares threateningly at Termet as he extends his hand.
